Supporting Emotional Development
Parent Workshop Series (Reception & Year 1)
Tetherdown School
The emotional foundations taking shape at ages 4, 5 and 6 can influence how children cope, connect and grow long into the future.
The early school years are a time of significant emotional and social growth. Children are learning to manage strong feelings, navigate friendships, cope with frustration, and adjust to the expectations of school life.
At this age, behaviour is often communication. When we understand what may sit beneath it, we can respond in ways that strengthen connection and support long-term emotional development.
These workshops offer a calm, reflective space for parents to deepen their understanding of young children’s emotional worlds and to explore different ways of thinking about everyday challenges.
